Old vines from vineyard to glass: Villa Bogdano 1880
The Old Vine Conference is a non-profit organisation founded with the admirable project of enhancing old vines around the world and the wines produced from their grapes.
Villa Bogdano 1880 has been an active participant and sponsor of the organisation since 2022, when our Estate hosted the first international conference of The Old Vine Conference (read more about this event by clicking here).
Recently The Old Vine Conference expanded its communication channels with a podcast hosted by Cynthia Chaplin, wine expert, educator and writer.
Cynthia interviewed the owner of Villa Bogdano 1880, Domenico Veronese, about old vines and the importance of their preservation; in particular, the talk focused on the old vines that we preserve in the Estate – an area of 18 hectares, considered by Professor Mario Fregoni “the Italian capital of old vines” – most of which are of the autochthonous variety Tocai Friulano, from which we produce our wine Lison Classico DOCG.
